Long before any recorded human history in Yellowstone, a massivevolcanic eruption spewed an immense volume of ash that covered all ofthe western U.S., much of the Midwest, northern Mexico and some areasof the eastern Pacific. The eruption dwarfed that of Mt. St. Helens in1980 and left a caldera 30 miles wide by 45 miles long.

The majority of Terra Prints are created using data collected fromtheASTER (Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer)satellite sensor. With its 14 spectral bands from the visible tothe thermal infrared wavelength region, and its high spatial resolutionof 15 meters (about 50 feet), ASTER images Earth to map and monitor thechanging surface of our planet.
The beautiful colors and remarkable imagery of these posters makefor the perfect addition to any office, home or school setting.
