This beautifully rendered, full colored map of the greater Yellowstone ecosystem, which extends from approximately Billings, MT in the NE to Preston, UT in the SW, depicts all of the finely detailed geographic and cultural features you would normally find on Raven state maps with the exception of graduated elevation color tints. The colors on this map correspond to vegetation types such as forests, grasslands, wetlands and regenerating forests. This last vegetation type clearly shows the extent of the massive 1988 fires in and around Yellowstone National Park.
This map is offered with profound respect for the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and all its inhabitants. It has been produced in support of the research and education activities that help us all contribute towards an understanding of, and sustainable future for, this unique ecosystem.
Established in 1872, Yellowstone National Park is the nation’s first national park. It is located in Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho and includes land between Butte and Pocatello to Billings and Lander. Map Size: 27″ X 40″
