The Cruces Basin Wilderness Map produced by the US Forest Service contains the most up-to-date information on access roads, trails, campsites, terrain, and points of interest within the Cruses Basin Wilderness. All wilderness maps contain contour lines, a topographic quad index and contact phone numbers, and the vast majority contain planning tips and descriptions of the terrain.

A mountain plateau sets the stage, with backdrops ranging from ridges covered in spruce, fir, and aspen up to 10,900 feet to a grass carpet that extends down to 8,600 feet.
