The 943,377 acre Absaroka Beartooth is one of the most popular wilderness areas in the United States. It takes its name from the convergence of two mountain ranges - the rugged, forested aspects of the Absaroka Mountains and the high elevation, lake-strewn Beartooth Mountains - and lures visitors with a tremendous variety of recreational opportunities.
